I'm Proud to Partner with Wandsworth Oasis
I'm absolutely thrilled to announce that I have partnered with the amazing local charity, Wandsworth Oasis, which raises money for people living with HIV.
It has nine charity shops across the Borough and runs fantastic fund-raising events. The money raised then gets distributed to charities that do the hands-on work.
The charities it helps to fund, cover all area of HIV care including counselling and peer support, nutrition advice, information provision and awareness-raising projects.
I'm partnering with Wandsworth Oasis, as I live in Wandsworth and wanted to support a local charity.
I'm also gay, and while I don't have HIV, a number of my friends do. Not that HIV is solely the preserve of gay people, but it does affect a proportionally higher numbers of us.
My work as a trainer was always designed to help build, support and improve people's bodies. But as I've got older, I've wanted to support my mental health as well, and started meditating this summer, which has had a fantastic effect on my outlook and how I cope with life.
Therefore I've started to incorporate it into my offering, helping guys to bulletproof their mental health as well as their physical health.
To back up my support, I'm donating 10% of the sales of my online personal training programme to Wandsworth Oasis.
I will also be taking part in the Red Run in December - this is a 5km and 10km race in London, running for the charity. Yes I'll be asking for a sponsorship, but not for a while, so put your wallet away for now!
There are some other exciting things coming up with Wandsworth Oasis, about which I'll keep you posted over the coming weeks.
I'm delighted to be able to help such a worthwhile cause, especially one that's on my doorstep.
If you'd like to know more about what the charity does, or find one of their shops in order to donate some household items or clothes (they would be very grateful if so!), please visit www.wandsworthoasis.org.uk.
Best wishes,
Matt "charity starts at home" Boyles
