The A - Z of a Fitter You; A is for...

The second we are born, we start to die.
A cheery thought for your Monday morning, I'm sure you'll agree. We have, as far as we know, one life and one chance, so is it not your duty to look after the vessel you've been given? Think of it like a computer game: every time you do something positive (more on that below), the more time gets added to your countdown timer. In its truest sense, atrophy refers to the wasting away, or degeneration of cells through under use. And yes, as we get older, life gets busier and it gets harder and sometimes more challenging to fight this. So building a bit more movement into your life will pay dividends - or in a more cliched sense: Use it or lose it. This also refers to mental stimulation too, reading, discussing, learning, all contribute to a healthy mind and body. So a mini-challenge this week: do something positive you haven't done before (or done in a while) - Go for a run - If you've been going to the gym for a while, try something different there - Buy a book on a whim - Take the stairs - Take the dog for a slightly longer walk - Try some beginner's yoga at home before work - Or - Something else Let me know how you get on! Best wishes, Matt "When felines give up, that's a cat atrophy. Sorry." Boyles PS. I'll try to keep the other 25 more uplifting
